CNDRA SENDS TECHNICAL COORDINATOR WILLIAM M. JOHNSON TO INDIA FOR ADVANCED STUDIES
The Center for National Documents and Records Agency Technical Coordinator, William M. Johnson, has departed Liberia for further education in India under the direction of Director General Hon. D. Nelson Bearngar.
He will be enrolled at Apeejay Stya University’s for a two-year intense Master of Business Administration program in Gurugram, Delhi, India.
CNDRA Director General Hon. D. Nelson Bearngar disclosed in a statement Monday before Johnson’s departure that the goal of the advanced studies program is to increase the National Archives of Liberia’s human resources capacity with specialized training for its staff.
He said building capacity is an important component of the overall development strategy to reposition the center for the National Document and Records Agency.
βAlthough we don’t have much, we think that our employees’ human capacity building will help us achieve our goal of becoming a top-tier archival institution that will be known for its skilled personnel,β he noted.
DG Bearngar asserts that increasing human capability is essential to the National Archives of Liberia’s short-, medium-, and long-term vision.
He also revealed that the agency is planning to send more staff members abroad to short-term courses in archive science, records management, preservation, and other archival-related subjects early in the upcoming year.
Mr. William M. Johnson, on his part, praised Director General D. Nelson Bearngar and Deputy Director General for Administration, Gabriel Domah, for providing all the needed support towards his scholarly endeavors in India.
He then pledged to maintain his concentration throughout the studies and to make the administration of the Center for National Documents and Records Agency proud.
