Boakai’s Appointments Walhalla, As Senator Prince Johnson Demands More Ministerial Positions
Delivering his regular Sunday summon at the Christ Chapel of Faith in Paynesville today, February 4, 2024, evangelist Prince Y. Johnson’s message highlighted on the appointments made by the Liberian leader, Joseph Nyuma Boakai stressed that Nimba should get not less than five to seven ministerial positions.
“When the birthplace of our father (Boakai) Lofa County couldn’t deliver, when Grand Bassa county could not deliver, when Bomi, a small County, could not deliver, Nimba stood; our goal was to make Boakia, a 79yrs Old man President of Liberia”, he told his congregation amid applaud.
“Nimba County deserves five to seven ministerial positions in the Boakai’s administration, but it’s saddened that only one cabinet position has been awarded to us (Nimbians),” he said.
Preaching further, the Nimba County Senator said, according to him, President Boakai’s administration is cloudy and characterized by “strange people” whom he said didn’t labor to make Boakai president. “If there’s any attempt to make us look irrelevant that people who suffered should not get Job, that’s not our problem”.
Senator Johnson, meanwhile, accused the Minister of State, Sylvester Grisby, of preventing the appointments of partisans from his MDR party recommended by Vice President Jeremiah Koung.
“You can’t discredit the role played by Nimba Nimba, we should be prioritized. We need four to five ministers. If Bomi county can get three, Bassa can get four, we need five or seven,” Sen. Johnson said.
Senator Johnson ‘s MDR played a vital role in making Boakai president of Liberia last year, winning more than 70 percent of the votes in vote-rich Nimba County.
