The General Overseer of the African Christians Fellowship International (ACFI) says his ministry remains committed toward education in the country.
Bishop Edward Kofi said since the establishment of his ministry in the country in 1986, the ministry has remained engage in partnering with the Liberian Government and partners in building schools all across the country that are making significant impact in the lives of Liberians.
Bishop Kofi made the statement over the weekend during the dedication of the new state of the art building of the Liberia Christians College in Sinkor, the National headquarters of the ministry in Liberia.
The ACFI’s head said the dedication of the new building is part of his ministry’s commitment in supporting the education sector of the country.
“We are grateful because this is a work of God. We have gathered here to thank God for what we aspired for many years. It has been many years to have this college for the teaching of our Christian brothers and sisters,” Bishop said.
The African Christians Fellowship International was established in Liberia in 1986 by Dr. Edward Kofi as the General overseer. The ACFI envisioned the need to established a tertiary institution that would provide Christian based education to men and women worldwide.
It can be recalled that in fulfilment of this vision, the National Legislature was petitioned by the church to enact into law the establishment of the Liberia Christian College (LCC). This Act incorporating the LCC was approved by the legislature on July 30, 1997 and promulgated August of the same year.
The primary aim of this college is to provide Christian based education to men and women worldwide so that they can grow and develop spiritually and academically and be equipped to exemplify high ethical standards in the various vocations.
The LCC is a Liberal Art college designed with five schools which offer both certificate and Bachelor Degree with specific areas of concentration. They include Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Theology, Religious Education, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering. Others include English, Accounting & Business, Mathematics and Criminal Justice.
The dedicatory program forms part of the 32nd annual world missions conference of the ACFI. The ACFI is an independent indigenous Bible believing Evangelical church fellowship. This fellowship constitutes more than three hundred indigenous churches dedicated to reaching the continent of Africa and humanity with the gospel of Jesus Christ in fulfillment of the great commission. The fellowship was founded in 1986.
Delegates to this year’s conference are drawn from Canada, United States of America, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso and the 15 political subdivisions of Liberia respectively under the theme: “Go Tell The Story, Do The Work Of An Evangelist, Make Full Proof Of The Ministry” with text Matthew 28:19-20 and II Timothy 4:3-5.
