Bong County Service Center through the Liberia Revenue Authority has announced the total amount of One Million three hundred Sixty –one thousand six hundred and sixty Liberian Dollars Forty-Six Cents ($1,361,660.46 LD) plus One Thousand Five Hundred and Sixty-Five United States Dollars ($1,565 USD) as total revenue generated during August 2018.
Speaking in an interview with this paper on Tuesday October 2, 2018, Bong County Service Center Coordinator, Jefferson Gbaryan said during the Month of August they were able to offer Services to three hundred eight End Users in the county.
He said out of the three hundred and eight end users one hundred sixty-three are males, one hundred fifteen females and thirty Couples.
According to the Bong County Service Center Coordinator out of the $1,361,660.46 Liberian Dollars and $1,565.00 USD the Ministry of Transport was able to generate the amount of seven hundred sixty six thousand eight hundred eighty-two and fifty seven cents, noting that followed by the Ministry of Commence with one hundred forty-four thousand five hundred forty nine and ninety nine cents.
In spite of the many internal challenges, the Bong County Service Center delivered services to the people of Bong County and its surrounding at the county Service Center.
He said during the Month of August 2018, the Service Center through the Liberia Revenue Authority issued the total Flag receipt of one hundred and seventy-five, adding which services were delivered.
“The Bong County Service Center in the Month of August 2018, could not carry on its regular radio program due to the failure of the Ministry/ partner to pay the station for the awareness in accordance with the memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Super Bongese Radio FM, for the purpose of creating more awareness in the county for the usage of the county service Center at the District levels up to September 2018 the contract ended and we could not renew the contract up to present,” Mr. Gbaryan.
According to Mr. Gbaryan due to administrative Challenges they have not being able to issue of ECOWAS Biometric identification Card; Adult Birth Certificates, Western Marriage Certificates, Printing of Drivers Licenses, Alternative Medicine, Divorce Certificates and Business Certificate are serious problems to the Bong County Service Center.
Meanwhile, the Bong County Service Center Coordinator is recommending to National Government that a Utility Vehicle be provided to enhance the work of the center and that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to decentralized the printing of certificate at the County Service Center for the consumption of end user.
He is at the same time calling for increment of salaries and benefits be considered so as to motivate the Service Center staff in the discharged of their respective duties, adding that internet service and the networking for the service center are installed, and the training for the IT that is still pending be conducted
