Arcelor Mitral $800M Deal Rejected By Legislature
Legislature vehemently rejects Arcelor Mittal U.S.$ 800-Million deal; sends it back to the Executive for further action
The plenary decision on Monday followed the Senate recent observation that the Mineral deal was not in the interest of the ordinary people.
The set back of the Arcelor Mital agreement also comes in the wake of an inter agency compliance report suspecting the company of defrauding the government of over three million U.S. dollars.
During the House’s special sitting on Monday, the lawmakers unanimously agreed to send the deal back to the executive branch of government for further action.
The body cited that it is not the responsibility of the Legislature to negotiate.
