Amid Appeal To President-elect By President Weah Not To Audit His Officials, Boakai Vows Officials Will Be Audited
Recently in his ‘Conceding defeat address’ to the nation after the just ended runoff presidential election President George Manneh Weah called on the president-elect not to prosecute or audit his officials of government when taking over the presidency of the country, but this has proving to the contrary, as the incoming president has vowed to hired international auditors to audit all former officials of government.
Appearing on the Voice of America (VOA) program, the incoming Liberian leader, Ambassador Joseph Nyumah Boakai who is currently in the United States on officials visit reechoed that the outgoing government officials will be audited by international auditors.
He noted that these foreign auditors will examine the financial records and other transactions of the outgoing government officials of President George Weah CDC-led government administration upon his inauguration as the 24th President of Liberia, noting, “These officials must account for their six-year stewardship”, he vowed during the VOA interview during the week.
