MONROVIA – Liberia’s Commissioner General to Expo Osaka 2025, Ambassador Juli Endee, has emphasized that the country’s participation in the upcoming global exposition in Japan will focus on forging strategic economic partnerships and attracting foreign investment, rather than just cultural displays.

Speaking at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism’s regular press briefing on Thursday, August 7, 2025, Ambassador Endee stated that Expo Osaka 2025 offers a unique opportunity for Liberia to position itself on the global investment map. The country plans to showcase its untapped business potential and engage with international partners.

“Expo Osaka is not just about singing and dancing; it’s about building strong economic bridges,” Endee asserted. “This international platform will enable Liberia to engage with serious investors, engineers, and business leaders who are interested in sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, tourism, and energy.”

She praised the Liberian government for its strong support of the country’s participation, noting that the backing from the national leadership underscores a firm commitment to economic diplomacy and international collaboration.

Ambassador Endee also highlighted the efforts of Liberians residing in Japan who are already promoting the country’s culture and products by selling local Liberian food. “This is commendable,” she said, “and it shows the spirit of Liberians contributing to our image abroad.”

The Commissioner General disclosed that Liberia will be actively involved in a range of business activities at the expo aimed at attracting investors eager to explore the country’s vast economic potential. The delegation will focus on high-level engagements and investment discussions across various sectors.

“We want to move Liberia from aid dependency to investment-driven development,” Ambassador Endee said. “By presenting concrete opportunities to global investors, we aim to generate meaningful economic benefits that will touch the lives of ordinary Liberians.”

Expo Osaka 2025, which is expected to bring together over 150 countries, international organizations, and private sector representatives, will be held under the theme, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” Liberia’s participation is being coordinated through the Commissioner General’s office in collaboration with relevant government ministries and agencies.

Ambassador Endee concluded by expressing confidence that Liberia’s presence at Expo Osaka will open new doors for economic cooperation and sustainable development. “This is a chance for Liberia to tell its story not only through culture but through commerce,” she said. “And we are ready to make the most of it.”
