Air Maroc Staff Arrested For Alleged Theft Of Over US$18k
The Monrovia City Court through its presiding Judge Ernest Bana has arrested a staff of Air Maroc for allegedly stealing US$18,923 from the airline company while in its employ as Sales Agent.
The Writ of Arrest was issued on Tuesday, November 5, for Ms. Everlyn Williams based on the charges of Theft of Property and Misapplication of Entrusted Property in violation of the Statutory Laws of Liberia.
The writ indicated that Ms. Williams on September 5 and 7, while serving as sales agent at Air Maroc purposely with wicked and criminal intent stole, took and carried away the said amount from the travel agency and criminally converted it into her personal use and benefit to deprive the private prosecutor.
The writ noted that the alleged act by the defendant being unlawful, wicked and international is in violation of the New Penal Law of Liberia.
Meanwhile, the defendant has been turned over to her lawyer for the court trial.
