Ahead Of October Poll: Is Liberia’s Opposition Community Indecisive?

As Liberians look forward to making a decision for the overwhelming election of their leaders including the presidency and members of the National Legislators, their reliance from the opposition seems disjointed, as many at said to be pondering over the hope of the opposition during these pending elections come October 10, 2023.

Already the country’s electoral system have been overwhelmed with over two dozens of opposition political parties queue arguably with their respective political leaders  anticipating victory come this much talked about October 10 poll, others have reportedly defeated themselves by crossing carpet to the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) of President George Manneh Weah.

Our reporters in their weekly dispatches from up country including leeward counties, have disclosed that some supporters of various opposition political parties have publicly expressed disappointment in their respective parties, noting that the way things are happening amongst the opposition community ahead of Liberia’s historical elections.

Some of them that are said to be committed to their respective opposition political parties in an exclusive interview with our reporters cautioned leaders of the opposition political parties to politically change their leadership gear in the interest of their respective supporters by being nationalists; they must be very decisive to come together if they are to succeed during these elections.

With this reported current situation between opposition political parties, of not believing in each other ahead of these historical upcoming elections, will overwhelmingly give the ruling establishment the opportunity to win a landslide victory during these elections at the October 10, 2023 poll, those spoken to by the GNN predicted.

Others who also spoke on the issue called on some of the main opposition political parties, including the former ruling party, the Unity Party (UP) of Ambassador Joseph Nynma, the Alternative National Congress (ANC), Mr. Alexander Benedict Cummings, who is also the head of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), and others to be more resolute during these elections if they are to succeed in these electoral processes.
