Liberians are pondering over the early action of the police when it disclosed that there has been no complainant in the July 26 Independence Day protest with the CDC-COP clashing with members of the University based Students Unification Party (SUP) leaving several members of SUP wounded.

In a statement issued today by the police spokesperson, Moses Carter said seven persons have been arrested in connection to the protest. Carter in the statement named those arrested as Kendrick S. Pelenah, 30, Joshua S. Carr, 28, Pukar Roberts, 36, Ben B. Togbah, 25, Foday N Massaquoi, 23, Aaron K, Chea, 26 and Abdurahman Barrie.
According the statement, police also launched a manhunt for the remaining individuals and will shortly solicit the assistance of the public by releasing names and photographs of the wanted persons.
Meanwhile, the LNP informs the public that it is still conducting Professional Standards probe of its officers that were in charge of security for the July 26 celebration. Concluding the statement said the public will be duly informed subsequently.
