Philadelphia Church Ministries International (PCMI) Announces Platinum Jubilee Celebration for Bishop Samuel M. Dorbor, Sr.

MONROVIA, LIBERIA — Presiding Bishop, Dr. George D. Harris, alongside the Executive Board of Elders (EBOE) and the Planning Committee announces a month-long celebration honoring the 70th birthday of Bishop Vice Chair, Rt. Rev Samuel M. Dorbor, Sr.

Bishop Dorbor reaches this landmark septuagenarian milestone on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The Platinum Jubilee centers on the theme “My Season of Recovery & Restoration,” inspired by the scripture 1 Samuel 7:14. The celebration honors a leader who has dedicated 46 years of his life to missions, service within PCMI, and Jesus Christ.

Rev. Gardea A. Roberts, head of the Planning Committee, noted that the jubilee features five distinct events spanning May and June 2026.

From Monday, May 11, to Friday, May 15, 2026, at 5 p.m. daily, a Five-Day Revival Service will be held at the Victorious People’s Center, New Georgia Philadelphia Church.

It will be followed by a Thanksgiving Service & Legacy Tree Planting on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 3 p.m., at the same venue. The celebrant will plant a historic Legacy Tree during the program.

On June 6, 2026, a Medical and Relief Charity Program will be held to minister to the spiritual, emotional, physical, mental, and medical needs of 300 underprivileged people and zogoes from the New Georgia Community.

Rev. Roberts also said that a Musical Fest will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 3 p.m. The praise concert will feature choir and dance teams from PCMI and other churches as they praise Yahweh for His manifold blessings released by grace to the celebrant.

“The celebrations will be climaxed with a Grand Jubilee Banquet on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 5:15 pm. This event will be held at the Elizabeth J. Tulay Event Hall, on the Philadelphia Central Church compound, in Congo Town. The closing banquet serves as a formal honoring ceremony and a fundraiser to purchase a double-cabin pickup truck for PCMI mission purposes.”

“We invite the PCMI community, all believers, community members, and partners to celebrate Bishop’s lifetime of kingdom service. Tickets are on sale for the dinner,” he intoned!
