Manolu, Maryland County – The Manolu community in Karluway Statutory District has been plunged into grief and anxiety following the sudden and mysterious deaths of two prominent residents over the weekend. The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old George K. Nah and 64-year-old Daniel D. Charlie, whose deaths occurred within just 24 hours of each other.

According to Karluway District Police Commander Samuel T. Brown, Jr., Nah is believed to have drowned in a local creek known as Bort on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

“On Saturday, May 31, 2025, at about 11:30 a.m., I received a call from Mr. Wahmle Elliott reporting that the deceased had gone to wash at a creek known as Bort. He was later discovered unconscious by a man named Henry Nyemah,” Commander Brown told Global News Network. “When we arrived on the scene around 2:45 p.m., the victim was pulled from the water and pronounced dead by Wlewon Kollie, Officer-in-Charge of the Manolu Clinic.”

Family sources confirmed that Nah had a history of epilepsy. A 12-man jury conducted an on-site examination and subsequently cleared the body for release to the family for burial.

Tragedy struck again the following day, Sunday, June 1, when residents discovered the body of Daniel D. Charlie hanging from a tree under circumstances yet to be clarified. Police have not confirmed whether Charlie’s death was a suicide or if foul play is suspected. Investigations are ongoing in both cases.

The deaths have sparked fear and speculation among residents of Manolu, who describe both men as respected community members.

“This is heartbreaking for all of us,” said one community elder. “We hope the investigations bring some clarity and peace to the families.”

Authorities are urging the public to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement as they work to uncover the truth behind these tragic events.
