Pleebo, Maryland County – Dr. Bhofal Chambers, former District #2 Representative and Speaker of Liberia’s 54th Legislature, has made a significant donation of L$5 million to his long-running scholarship program, underscoring his enduring commitment to education in Pleebo Sodoken District.

The substantial funding, distributed through his scholarship committee in Pleebo, is intended to cover outstanding tuition fees for all students currently enrolled in the program. This continued support highlights Dr. Chambers’ dedication to the academic future of the youth in his home district, even after his departure from government service.

Speaking recently to the Global News Network (GNN), Mr. Melchizedek Toe and Mr. Telson Wah, two key coordinators of the scholarship initiative, confirmed that payments to schools are nearing completion. “We are 99% done with the fiscal settlements,” they disclosed, noting that the funds are benefiting students in both public and private institutions, including Tubman University in Maryland County.

Mr. Toe emphasized Dr. Chambers’ steadfast commitment: “Even though he is no longer in government, Dr. Chambers has remained forever committed to paying the school fees of deserving students in Pleebo, Maryland County.”

Parents, guardians, and the student beneficiaries have all voiced profound appreciation for the former lawmaker’s continued generosity and foresight.
