Three men who escaped from an Atlantic County detention center last year were indicted on Thursday.

Michael J. Huggins, 19, of Bridgeton, Stephine Woodley, 18, of Brotmanville, and Raymir Lampkin, 16, of Atlantic City broke out of Harborfields Detention Center in Egg Harbor Township on Nov. 15, 2017, according to a release from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The three men, and an unnamed juvenile who allegedly helped them escape, overpowered a senior youth worker, and then left the grounds by taking another youth worker’s vehicle. One youth worker was injured and taken to a hospital. The teens later crashed the car and ditched it ahead of a pursuing police cruiser.

Woodley and Lampkin and unidentified teenager were captured in Bridgeton several hours later and Huggins was apprehended the following day in Atlantic City.

Huggins, Woodley and Lampkin were indicted for second degree escape and conspiracy, second degree robbery and conspiracy and third degree assault on a law enforcement officer and conspiracy.

They were also indicted for two counts each of third degree theft and conspiracy, second degree eluding and conspiracy, two counts each of second degree burglary and conspiracy, third degree unlawful possession of a rifle and conspiracy, third degree criminal restraint and conspiracy, second degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose and second degree possession of a community gun for an unlawful purpose.

Huggins was also indicted for third degree resisting arrest by force, second degree unlawful possession of a handgun and fourth degree tampering with physical evidence.

Huggins is charged with murder in the Oct. 7, 2016 killing of Davonte Lee, 21. Huggins was 17 at the time, authorities said.
