Monrovia, Liberia β€” The Government of Liberia (GoL) has formally acknowledged the publication of the 2024 U.S. State Department Human Rights Report on Liberia.

According to an official statement, the government has noted the issues raised in the report and has mandated relevant sector institutions to conduct a comprehensive and thorough review and analysis of its contents. This internal review will inform the government’s official response to the U.S. State Department.

The GoL emphasized its commitment to human rights, stating that as a signatory to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it takes human rights matters seriously and will always act to uphold its basic principles.

The government also highlighted the progress it has made since January 2024 in improving overall governance, including the protection of human rights.
