Rep Saah Joseph

Source closed to the campaign team of Representative Saah Joseph of District #13, Montserrado County has hinted that their candidate may likely abandon his senatorial quest for the upcoming Montserrado County Senatorial by-elections due to reasons beyond his control.

The source also disclosed that one of the reasons outlined for the alleged abandonment of Representative Joseph has been centered on recent declaration by the National Elections Commission (NEC) of the lack of funding to conduct the senatorial by-elections.

“One of the reasons is the lack of funds by the NEC to conduct the senatorial by-elections gave rise to our candidate’s action to abandon his quest. His exist from the House of Representative may also create a serious financial setback for the conduct of another by-elections for the House,” the source hinted this paper.

Several other newly elected Representatives of their respective districts also declared their intention to contest the pending senatorial by-elections for both Montserrado and Bong Counties, a situation that is being pondered many electorates wondering as to where funding will come from is another by-elections are created.

Some observers who spoke to this paper over the weekend questioned those who were elected by their districts during the 2017 legislative election to represent them in the House are becoming to switch their intent to the senate. “These guys are just greedy, why not they hold on to what they were elected for?” Emmanuel Kollie speaking to our staff over the weekend wondered.

Efforts by our staff to contact Representative Joseph to ascertain that facts surrounding this report proved unsuccessful as his mobile lines rang endlessly.
