UPDATE: Two MoH Employees Detained In Kambia Transferred To Freetown
Speaking to GNN via whatsApp one of the detainees, Samuel G. Tiah said after spending four days in detention at the Kambia Detention Center in the Northern Province of the country, they were been ordered to be transferred from that center to Freetown for further investigation.
According to Tiah, their arrest and detention in Kambia by border security of Sierra Leone is not because of the vehicle which they were riding, but rather two bikes for the Ministry of Health which were in the possession of the Chief Security, Ben Pable that were not turned over prior to their departure gave rise for the Minister of Health Dr. Wilhemina S. Jallah to allegedly ordered their arrest.
According to Tiah, one of the bikes in question was given to a bike repairer by the Moses Flomo a driver of the Human Resource department to be repaired due to its faultiness, and was to that if in fact any concern on the whereabouts of the bike by authority at the ministry it should be turned over but to present this has not been done.
“My brother, our arrest in Sierra Leone is not because of the vehicle; this vehicle was given me legally by the Minister, all the legal documents are here, it is because of the two missing bikes in question”, Tiah speaking to the GNN from Sierra Leone said.
He said already officers of Liberia Interpol are expected to form part of the investigation tomorrow, Monday, August 30, 2021 in Freetown.
