UN Peacekeeping Finishes Its Mission In Liberia Successfully

Special Representative of the Secretary-General and head of the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), Farid Zarif, briefs the Security Council.

The world’s multi national peacekeeping force, UNMIL which was established on June 1, 2003, for the purpose of providing  peacekeeping for the people of Liberia during those terrible days; protected civilians, supported humanitarian and human rights activities and assisted in national security, reform, including national police training and formation of a new, restructured military.
