The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will ban travelers from Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Namibia from June 21, state news agency WAM reported.

The restrictions will also apply to transit passengers, except for transit flights traveling through the UAE and to these countries.

The report says that cargo flights between these countries and the UAE will continue as usual.

The restrictions are being introduced as part of the fight against the spread of COVID-19.

Travelers from India who hold a valid residence visa and have received two doses of the UAE-approved vaccine will also be allowed into the country.
