U.S. Sanctions Fever Hits Every Sector Of Gov’t, As Many Worried Over Who’s Next

Since the United States Treasury Department release the bombshell on the imposition of sanctions on three confidants of President George Manneh Weah including the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs and the Chief of Staff at the presidency, Nathaniel Falo McGill, the Managing Director of the National Port Authority, Bill Twehway, and the Solicitor General of Liberia, Sayma Syrenius Cephus, for what was said of their ongoing involvement in public corruption, some officials in government are said to be worrying over as to whose next.

According to GNN investigation, heads of many of the Liberian government ministries and agencies including ordinary employees are said to be mindful of whatever their respective tasks are, as they are said to be cautioning themselves of any involvement that will eventually lead them to unwanted imposition of sanctions as being done with those who have been caught in such act.,

As news of another list of sanctions designated individuals to shortly be released in the Liberian government, many are pondering over as to who will be the next target to be sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department for corruption and other undesired activities.

Our reporters who visited several ministries and agencies were confronted with uncountable questions, as many asked as to who will be the next person to be sanctioned? While others who spoke to our reporters said they are looking forward as to what will happen to those who have been sanctioned.

Everywhere you turn in the city seems very quiet, with many at streets corners are seen debating the issue of the U,S, Treasury Department sanction on Liberians, also the airwaves of Liberia, particularly local radio stations talk shows hosts are discussing the issue of this.
