Touch Not the Anointed Youths of Liberia: They Are Imitating Your Lawless Behavior!

The vanguard Student Unification Party (SUP) at the University of Liberia (UL) and Liberian youths across that West African nation are exercising their inalienable rights as citizens of Liberia. It falls within the framework of the Constitution of Liberia for any group of citizens to assemble peaceably, express themselves freely and present their grievances to their leaders.

However, in terms of the growing militancy around the country and on the campuses of the University of Liberia that prompted the University authorities to suspend student politics, these are reflections of the national authorities’ prolonged brutal and uncivil behaviors they exemplified during thirty years of lawlessness, mayhems, and atrocities, as well as the continued impunity Liberian youths and the citizens of Liberia have collectively endured under the regimes of Charles Taylor, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and now the current administration of President Weah. For, not only did Liberian youths witness the Liberian genocide, but they also actively participated in the overt acts of genocide as child soldiers and combatants forcibly conscripted by Charles Taylor and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
