Senator Prince Y. Johnson Releases His Palm Sunday Message To Liberians
In his Palm Sunday message posted on social media, mainly on his Face Book page, the Nimba County Senator said, “On Palm Sunday, Christians around the world commemorate Jesus Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem, marking the beginning of Holy Week. It is a day of celebration and reflection, as palm branches are waved and Hosannas are sung, symbolizing the people’s acknowledgment of Jesus as their Messiah and King. This significant day serves as a reminder of the humility, love, and sacrifice embodied by Jesus as he embarked on the path that would lead to his crucifixion and resurrection, ultimately bringing hope and salvation to humanity. Have a great Palm Sunday”, he concluded.
Thousands of Liberians and foreign residents found themselves in their respective worship services to grace the day which commemorates the Christian belief in the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, when he was greeted by cheering crowds waving palm branches that they set out on the ground along his path, according to the Bible. This year, Palm Sunday falls on March 24.
The lesson of Palm Sunday is that Jesus when he entered Jerusalem that day didn’t come to establish an earthly kingdom but first the spiritual kingdom.
