The Secretary General of the Association of Liberia Shippers in the United States (ALISUS), Philip E.P. Woods, II, has issued a press statement expressing frustration Diaspora Liberians are faced with in the shipment of their respective consignments from the United States, which he alleged are always sold at the APM Terminal here in Liberia.

My Dear Brothers Of The Press, Greetings!
Your please see some of the reasons why Liberia will not see peace and stability in any time soon. For too long now, the Liberia government have been the cause of its citizens to fail in the private sector.
See the attached procedures the government used to open Liberians containers at the port in the name of over stayed containers auction. They create a situation for us to fail so they can ruin our investment. For months now we have been trying to sit with the National Port Authority (NPA) Managing Director to have talked over how they are doing business with our community in the diaspora.
They just opened so many containers without paying any attention to our request for information, we are asking you all to please help us share the news by following up with the NPA. For the past few weeks and days i been texting and calling the md before they could open these containers that we are willing to pay the charges and clear our shipments, he never answered until yesterday after i send him a text telling him my next action before he text to say he will speak with me on today, whether we talk or not, i want will go public on this and many other issues surrounding the shipping to Liberia sector.
