His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, has issued the following Statement in connection with the beginning of the Holy Month of Ramadan this year:
The Chairman and Officers of the National Muslim Council of Liberia;
All Muslims Residing in Liberia;
Fellow Liberians:
Assalamu Alaikum Ya Jamma-atul Muslimeen!!
As you embark upon your month-long religious obligation of fasting, let me congratulate you on this noble undertaking, which is one of the five pillars of Islam.
While Liberian Muslims observe the Holy Month of Ramadan, I ask for your continuous prayers for peace and reconciliation for Liberia, which is very cardinal to sustainable development and social cohesion. In the face of global economic challenges, we as a nation must continue to look to Allah in prayers and supplications to heal our Nation.
May the almighty Allah give you the strength as you endeavor to fast holy this month of Ramadan.
