President Weah Withdraws Dr. Slewion’s Nomination

Dr. Michael Slewion

Following mountain pressure from several civil society groups of Liberia, the Liberian leader, President George Manneh Weah, has finally withdrawn the nomination of Dr. Michael Slewion this week, July 7, 2021.

On June 14, 2021, Dr. Slewion was nominated by the Liberian Leader as Director-General of the National Commission on Higher Education.

The Liberian Chief Executive will nominate a new head of the entity subsequently.
