‘Powerful’ Masonic Delegation visits Liberia – Set to Revive Royal Arch Masonry

The Most Excellent Grand High Priest of the  Most Excellent Prince Hall Grand Chapter of the  Holy Royal Arch Masons, of Texas and jurisdictions, Most Excellent Grand High Priest, Companion Willie J. Tate, is at the head of a three men delegation currently visiting St. Luke Chapter No. 144, of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Liberia.

Most Excellent Grand High Priest Tate and delegation including Companion Elvis Irby, District Deputy Grand High Priest and deputy of the Texas, Council of Deliberation , Orient of Texas, United Supreme Council , United States of America, and Companion Kenith McMurry, Grand Scribe, is in the country for a six days visit.

Most Excellent Grand HIGH priest Tate and delegation were met upon arrival at the Roberts’ International Airport, by the leadership of St. Luke Chapter No. 144, headed by Excellent High Priest Eden C. Reeves, II, and delegation.

While in Liberia Companion Willie J. Tate and delegation will hold a town hall gathering with members of St. Luke Chapter No. 144 , meet the Most Worshipful Grand Master, Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Liberia, and members of the Grand Lodge , including the Grand Matron, General Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

According to the program organizer, Companion Nathaniel Kelvin, of St. Luke chapter No. 144, the delegation will also hold talks with senior government of Liberia officials, and tour major historical sites in Liberia, including the newly refurbished Grand Masonic Temple, West Benson Street, attend the monthly Communication of Hiram Lodge No. 11, A.F. & A.M., on tomorrow Monday , September 9, and perform the Initiation and Exaltation of new candidates of St. Luke Chapter No. 144, on Tuesday, September 10, 2019,  before departing Liberia on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.

The visit of the powerful delegation of Royal Arch follows recent nomination and appointment OF Companion Eden C. Reeves, 330, as Excellent High Priest , of St. Luke Chapter No. 144, by Immediate Past Grand Master,  Most Worshipful Brother, James E. Pierre, 330, and reaffirm by current Grand Master, George E. Henries, 330.

Excellent High Priest , Eden C. Reeves, in an interview with IPNews at yesterday’s town hall gathering lauded Most Excellent Grand High Priest, Companion Willie J. Tate, and delegation for the sacrifice to travel miles away to ensure Liberia is once again on the global map of Masonic intercourse , particularly the reactivation of Royal Arch Masonry in Liberia.

Companion Reeves, on behalf of Companions of St. Luke Chapter No. 144, and the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Liberia, extended heartfelt felicitation to Companions of The Most Excellent Prince Hall Grand Chapter of the  Holy Royal Arch Masons, of Texas and jurisdictions, for the courage to allowing Liberia once gain its place among global Masonic bodies.

He expressed great admiration of Companion Tate and delegation skills of Masonic knowledge , especially Royal Arch Masonry , which would  greatly enhance the administration and conduct of Royal Arch Masonry in Liberia which had be dormant for nearly 39 years since the violent overthrown of the government of Liberia in 1980, which marked the banned on Masonic activities including the practice of Royal Arch Masonry.

The visit of the U.S. delegation also mark 51 years after a U.S. Masonic delegation visited Liberia, as guest of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Liberia to administer the 330, upon former Liberian President William V.S. Tubman, and other Masonic Brothers in 1968. `

Royal Arch Masonry is a house of the Ancient Masonic Craft which get its origin from the ‘ruins of King Solomon’s Temple, during the construction of the Second Temple’, following its destruction.
