Mr. T-Max Jlated wondering why someone must kill him

One of Liberia’s popular Talk-Show-Hosts, T-Max Jlateh on Monday, October 19, 2020 alarmed over death threat against him, noting that several vehicles with tinted windshield over the past weeks have been following his movement including wherever he goes, wondering as to why his vehicle should be tailed by unknown individuals.

Explaining his ordeal, Mr. Jlateh on his daily show, 50-50 aired on Sky FM 107.1, alleged that over the weekend, a vehicle marked ‘CDC’ also drove to his residence uninvited, parked in front of his gate for hours, but left after it did not succeed in its plans.

The tough talking talk show host who said he has written several organizations including the Press Union of Liberia, the United States Embassy, the Inter Religious Council, and other international organizations said he fear no one but trust in God, noting that he has done nothing wrong to anybody including the CDC-led government of President George Manneh Weah to be hunted for.

Several callers who called on the show urged Mr. Jlateh to take courage in the Lord, and fear nothing bu to do wrong, they further wondered as to while people in vehicles with tinted windshield should continue to tail his vehicles.

Speaking further, Mr. Jlateh said he is indeed surprised for what is happening, adding, “I cannot change my routine  as a professional person who want to see my country a better perspective,” Mr. Jlateh before ending his today’s talk how, ’50-50’ wondered.

Over the past months, speculations have been up roofing that some senior journalists were allegedly been targeted by unknown armed men.

In an exclusive interview with the President of the Press Union of Liberia, Charles B. Coffey, he confirmed that Mr. Jlateh has written the union of complain on his life is been threatened by unknown persons riding in tinted windshields vehicles.

Also in a mobile phone chat, Liberia Minister of Justice, Cllr. Frank Musa Dean said he has not receive any communication regarding the alleged threat on the life of T-Max Jlateh, but said he was checking with his office staff  if the office ever receive such communication.

According to some sources closed to the GNN which needs to be verified have indicated that a lineup of prominent journalists have been targeted to be eliminated for their critical stance against the CDC-led government. Our staff is investigating this report as to its reality.
