Palm Sunday Massacre’ killer released from prison
By Spectrum News NY1 |
The man who killed 10 people in one of the most infamous mass shootings in city history was released from prison earlier this year, the Department of Correction revealed Friday night.
Christopher Thomas, now 68 years old, shot eight children and two women inside their Brooklyn home on Palm Sunday in 1984.
The jury ruled on a 50-year sentence for manslaughter rather than murder because Thomas was found to have been under the influence of drugs at the time.
He served only two-thirds of that time due to good behavior, and was released in January. Thomas remains on parole through June of 2034.
