NYPD: Officers Fired At While Responding to Call in Brooklyn
By Spectrum News Staff Brooklyn |
The NYPD says shots were fired Sunday at officers who were responding to an early morning call in Brooklyn.
Shots rang out around 2 a.m. Sunday near Saratoga Avenue and Bainbridge Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, according to authorities.
Police say no officers were injured when their car was shot at, and they say no officers returned fire.
“I think this is part of a trend. It’s a little disturbing,” said one member of the community. “I mean, there are times when I think the neighborhood is OK, and then there are times when I think it is very disturbing. I don’t think this neighbrohood has turned the corner yet.”
Police say five people were arrested for disorderly conduct in connection with the incident.
