Twelve Home Country Nationals (HCNs) and other staff of the Embassy of Liberia in Abuja, Nigeria, have received certificates on workplace capacity development.
According to a dispatch from Abuja, the Embassy certificated the HCNs and other staff during a program at the Mission at the end of an intensive workshop on diplomatic ethics, effective communication, Code of Conduct, and basic leadership.
Performing the certification, Ambassador Prof. Al-Hassan Conteh said the HCNs are support staff who are a critical component of the Abuja Mission’s work in implementing the development diplomacy agenda of the Government of Liberia.
“Performance in your respective duties is therefore pivotal to the success of the Mission as a diplomatic Mission of the Government of Liberia, as well as vitality in its operation as it interacts with Nigerian government and society,” the Ambassador emphasized.
The Ambassador thanked the respective HCNs for their support service in administrative, security and maintenance of the physical plant of the Embassy.
Ambassador Conteh also acknowledged Mr. Tunde J. Spencer, Counsellor for Political Affairs at the Embassy, for conducting the workshop based on his proficiency in diplomatic capacity development and leadership skills training.
The Embassy of Liberia near Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria, is also accredited to Benin Republic, Equatorial Guinea, and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The twelve HCNs and other staff of the Mission are an important bridge in facilitating its workload with the host country Nigeria, other states of accreditation, ECOWAS, other international organizations, and nineteen Embassies accredited to Liberia that are based in Abuja, Nigeria.
