Shortly after being arrested under suspicion of murder, Rolando Garza appeared livid when he saw local media waiting for him as he was being taken to jail.
He had to be physically restrained before police escorted him to the waiting car.
“That was self defense,” Garza exclaimed. “They came to my residence with a gun … these cops are just putting everything on me.”
Garza turned himself in Friday after learning he was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Gerardo Aparicio, who was found dead Wednesday in an apartment in the 7100 block of Snowden Road.

Rolando Garza is charged with murder in connection to a shooting in the 7100 block of Snowden Drive.
San Antonio Police Sgt. Michelle Ramos said Garza was staying with his girlfriend in the apartment when Aparicio, the woman’s ex, showed up to the apartment with friends.
A fight ensued between the two groups, who have been feuding for some time, police previously said.
“According to witnesses, (Garza) pulled out his weapon first,” Ramos said when asked about his self defense claim.
A second man was shot in the groin during the scuffle.
Police found one gun at the crime scene, but it’s unclear who the gun belonged to. Ramos also did not know whether Aparicio was armed during the incident.
Detectives continue to investigate the case and more arrests are possible, Ramos said.
