MPC Blasts UP Administration, Says War Crime Court Not Important Now… Outlines Key Concerns To Be Prioritised

The Political leader of the Movement for Progressive Change (MPC) says the establishment of the War Crime Court is not important compare to   other things that the Unity Party Government should be more concern about in meeting the need of the citizens.

According to Simon Freeman, the issues of electricity, pipe born water, roads connectivity among others are key issues that the government should prioritize terming as “bread and butter” for everyone to start laughing than the government can start pushing other plans of such.

Freeman also said the issues of War Crime Court if given prioritize for establishment, will be a financial burden on government in funding it establishment as well as sustaining; citing that the court system of Liberia has the ability to prosecute individuals’ whole be liable for the commission of war crime if the right system is put in place.

Freeman recommended that individual who has a case against anyone who may have committed war crime against his or her relative should has the right to go court with all necessary evidence and the court should has the mandate for prosecution of said individual.

The MPC Political Leader assorted that beside Serra Leone who was misled to establish war crime court and after spending millions of dollars, was only able to prosecute less than five persons could be the same with Liberia if this government dare to venture into anything of that nature; adding that, how many country in Africa or America that have war crime court.

Freeman further noted that the will the Unity Party Government is starting her work shows that President Boakai is weak to lead the country and he may not fulfil his political vision if his government does not change the will its proceeding.

Out lining some of the ways he said the UP Administration is proceeding, Freeman said from the onset of the President Boakai leadership, there are several missteps including the assets recovery committee which he said is yet to be visible and effective, the additional creation of space in government institutions and appointment of individuals in these positions thou increasing the already existing government expenditure, the failure of the drug test committee to do what it was constituted to do, who he said some of the committee members are not speaking to each other among others. Freeman said the Agenda of the Liberian Leader is on path to be a failure to the Liberia people.

Other concerns the MPC Political leader also mentioned are the allege shooting and killing of some citizens of Ground Cape Mont County, the unlawful removal of individuals occupying tenue positions, the recent death of a man in connection to LEC Power Theft, as signs of President Boakai “weakness” government.

He said, the police action to have shoot at armless citizens leaving some dead, should not accepted in the discharge of police duties; noting that if the citizens were not aggravated by the work for the company they couldn’t have go on the rampage. He said in the situation where the dispute was first noticed, stakeholder should have be more strategy in ensuring that the matter be amicably dialogued. And with the issue of LEC, he said no one will think of getting involve into power theft if the government create room for citizens to have assets to electricity.

Emphasising further, Freeman noted that Liberians should now begin thinking in the direction of giving the country to the business community because politicians are bringing anything on the table to help deliver the country and it citizens; citing that with a his business ideology and if the opportunity is given him through the citizens, he will transform Liberia vis business networking.

Responding to an inquiry from this paper on why he can’t create means of projecting his plans to the President that would give him change to get some of his ideas effected in benefiting the citizens, MPC Freeman respond that he done have means of calling President Boakai and he wouldn’t go dragging to the president office less it be misinterpreted that he is looking for job despite bad mothing the government; but said despite his position as opposition political party, he wouldn’t mind providing consultations to President Boakai, provided the Liberian leader willingness to embrace his ideas and plan.
