Miss America, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA winners are all black women for first time
The winners crowned 2019’s Miss America, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA are all black women for the first time in pageant history.
Cheslie Kryst, a lawyer from North Carolina, completed the historic triple on Thursday after she won the Miss USA title.
Kaliegh Garris, a high school senior from Connecticut who is planning to pursue a career in nursing, was crowned Miss Teen USA on Sunday.
And Nia Franklin, the Miss America 2019 from New York, won her title in a September competition.
Social media users celebrated the trio of women.
