Minimum wage in New York to increase to $12 or $13 an hour in new year

New Yorkers making minimum wage will see an increase in the new year.

The wage for most city workers will go from $11 an hour to $13.

Workers in businesses with fewer than 10 employees will get a bump from $10.50 to $12.

This is the second phase of the wage increase.

The first, signed into law by Governor Cuomo, went into effect last year.

The goal is to raise the wage for all workers to $15 an hour.

That’s not expected to happen until the end of next year.
