The International President and Founder of the Movement to establish Peace, Justice and Unity in Liberia, Inc (MEPJUL) has congratulated President-elect Senator George Weah on the occasion of his overwhelming victory in the December 26 runoff presidential election.

In a dispatch from the United States of America, Onesimus G. S. Gayemen is quoted as saying “while it is true that the election of Ambassador George Weah to this noble office comes as a surprise to millions of people at home and abroad, simply because of his career background, a lot of Liberians over the past years saw in this young man three characteristics that make an individual to be a successful leader, that is peace, patriotism and preservation.”

According to Gayemen, a veteran journalist, the man George Manneh Weah from time to time has been involved in the promotion of peace and tolerance among his peers and other people.

Gayemen also says Ambassador Weah has always demonstrated a high degree of love for Liberia and Liberians, a patriotic spirit that on many occasions move him to personally spend thousands of money on Liberian refugees and the National soccer team, Lonestar.

The MEPJUL’s chief executive also asserts that considering the background of Senator Weah and the successes he had gained on the national and global scenes perseverant spirit, amidst numerous challenges has been the secret behind such milestones.

Gayemen is therefore calling on all Liberians including defeated presidential candidates in the just ended elections to whom, president-elect George Weah has already extended right hand of fellowship to rally around the president-elect in moving the country forward to a lofty height.

“We the patriotic and grateful Liberians see Ambassador Weah’s victory as a victory for all Liberians, as doubtlessly the gracious hand of God is behind his election and this should be seen as the fulfilment of prophecy. He is indeed the symbol of peace, genuine patriotism and courage,” he said.

It can be recalled, during the heat of the Liberian civil war that Mr. Gayemen, then a potential independent presidential candidate was actively involved in the distribution of assorted food items and medical supplies at various displaced camps in Liberia through his humanitarian organization, the Movement to establish peace, justice and unity in Liberia (MEPJUL), something that immensely impacted the lives of thousands of Liberia and other nationalities.
