Man, 42 Years Old Detain for Forgery and Economic Sabotage

The Liberia National Police has arrested, investigated and duly charged suspect, Jaymean A. Gordon Jr., 42, a resident of the Neezoe Community, Paynesville for alleged Forgery, Theft of Property, Economic Sabotage and Impersonating Official.
Suspect Gordon, Jr., was last month, February picked up by police after a formal complaint was filed by the Managing Director of the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC), Hon. Duannah A. Kamara on February 1, 2022 to the Liberia National Police.
The complaint detailed that suspect, Jaymean A. Gordon Jr., a former employee of the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation, was involved with alleged collection of fees for Water and Sewer bills from customers and issuing fake receipts bearing numbers 280561/028609/067030/321092/5629/4350341/041463. The fake receipts were issued to the A-Z Corporation, thus causing the Entity and by extension the Government of Liberia to sustain huge financial losses amounting to Seven Thousand, Two Hundred Sixty United States Dollars (USD7,260.00).
During Police preliminary investigation,Β suspect Gordon, Jr. admitted collecting and issuing fake receipts to customers whilst purporting himself as an active employee by and thru the A-Z Corporation.
Again, financial records at the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation showed that suspect Jaymean A. Gordon Jr. did a transaction on December 29, 2021 in favor of a customer, Kamah Merci, and pocketed the amount of One Thousand Seventy Three Unted States Dollars (USD1,073.00). Said amount was not deposited into the LWSC account.
Police investigators also established that suspect Jaymean Gordon encouraged the management of A-Z Corporation to trust him with the amount of Three Thousand Three Hundred United states dollars (USD3,300.00) to settle LWSC bills, an amount he diverted to his personal use,Β and reverted to the issuance of fake bills.
Based upon said facts and circumstances, coupled with physical evidence (fraudulent receipts), and witnesses accounts,Β the investigation resolved to send to Court suspect Jaymean A. Gordon Jr. for the crimes,Β Forgery, Theft of Property, Impersonating Official and Economic Sabotage in violation of Chapter 15 subchapter E section 15.70, Chapter 15 subchapter D section 15.51 Chapter 15 subchapter F section 15.80, and Chapter 12 subchapter B section 12.35 of the revised penal Law of Liberia pending prosecution.
