(LINA) – The Liberia News Agency (LINA) has signed a bilateral agreement with the Qatar News Agency.

The agreement is intended to re-enforce the mutual partnership and friendship between the two news agencies through knowledge and culture sharing and also the provision of logistical support.

Information Minister Lenn Eugene Nagbe signed on behalf of the Liberia News Agency, while the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar, Omai Al-Ali, signed on behalf of the Qatar News Agency in the conference room of the Ministry of information in Monrovia.

Speaking during the signing ceremony on Monday, Minister Nagbe noted that the bilateral agreement will serve as an exchange of technical and cultural support between LINA and the Qatari news agency.

He added that the both news agencies will supply each other with news contents in an effort to further strengthen bilateral ties between their countries.

For his part, the Charge d’Affaires of the Qatari Embassy near Monrovia, Al-Ali, lauded the government of Liberia for the mutual bilateral relationship existing between the two countries, noting that it was a pleasure for him to be a part of the signing of an agreement between the Liberia News Agency and Qatar News Agency.

Al-Ali hoped to see more of such agreements being signed between Liberia and Qatar aimed at further strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.

The signing of this agreement will see LINA Director General Kwame Weeks paying an official visit to Qatar anytime soon.
