LIBERIA: UP Takes NEC Hearing Officer To Task

Unity Party takes NEC hearing officer to task; says Fumba Swaray latest ruling to resume jurisdiction into Musa Bility’s versus UP legal pursuit contravenes his previous decision into the legal battle

The Unity Party said its judicial review against the elections commission Hearing Officer Fumba Swaray, is the fact that Mr. Swaray’s latest ruling to resume jurisdiction on the Liberty Party VS Unity Party legal pursuit, contravenes his initial ruling in which he dismissed the matter.

Speaking in an interview with this station Thursday, Unity Party Secretary General Mo Ali indicated that the Clerk of the NEC Board of Commissioners has notified the hearing officer for a possibility of reviewing his ruling.

Meanwhile Mo Ali disclosed that the Unity Party has also written an open communication to the National Elections Commission notifying the lack of qualification of its Legal Department Head Alvin Teage.
