Residents of Monrovia were early Friday morning got hit with the news of the mysterious death of two persons who are also employees of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) were found dead in a lacked vehicle at the intersection of Broad Street and Snapper Hill in central Monrovia.
The male victim identified as Albert Peters and a female victim identified as Gifty Asmah Lama were found dead mysteriously in the vehicle, a situation that drew huge crowd to gather around the vehicle where they lifeless bodies of the two.
According eyewitnesses along with officers from the homicide division of the Liberia National Police who had early arrived on the scene said they did not observe foul play on the body, but were hit by a strong stench upon the opening of the doors of the vehicle where the lifeless bodies were being discovered.
The wife of the male victim, Mrs Peters who earlier discovered the vehicle burst into tears and said she and her husband left the house together early Thursday morning, and told her he was going to see a friend at the UBA Bank on Broad Street.
She said after she did not see her husband for hours, she decided to drive around the area in search of him since he did not return home, neither did he take of her calls, and said after she discovered the vehicle around the area, and upon opening the door, she saw his lifeless body.
The cause of death of both remains unknown, but the Liberia National Police has removed the bodies while the vehicle was still parked on the scene of the incident until the crime services division, of the LNP, the Red Cross and officers of the Monrovia city Corporation remove the vehicle later on the day.
