The Secretary General of the Southeastern Journalists Association (SEJAL) and Radio Cape Rocks FM Manager in Maryland County, George K. Momo, has sustained severe injuries as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Reports say the accident occurred in the afternoon of December 12, while he was travelling from Pleebo to Harper in Maryland County.
After the accident, he was taken to the J.J. Dorsen Memorial Hospital in Harper and two days later transferred to the Jackson F. Doe Hospital in Tappita, Nimba County and is now at the J.F.K. Hospital in Monrovia.
Medical reports show that the Liberian journalist, who corresponds for ELBC, LINA, Bush Chicken and New Dawn, and is a full-fledged member of the Press Union of Liberia, broke his left foot thrice, while his left eye was also affected.
Maryland citizens and south-easterners in general are in sad mood as one of their popular radio presenters was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident.
Commenting on the accident, Lloyd Farley, president of the Southeastern Journalists Association, expressed regrets over the incident and called on journalists in the southeast and Liberia at large to remember George K. Momo, commonly known as ‘Journalist Without Border’, in their prayers.
“I am told that George will be taken to Ghana and as such I want to call on every one to keep praying for our brother,” said Farley.
Momo is currently at the JFK Memorial Hospital in Monrovia and is responding to treatment, according to reports.
