The Margibi Security Council and the County Information Service Center today honored several journalists across the county, presenting them with certificates of Award for their professional and excellence performance.
Giving an overview of the Certification, the county information officer, Joe Benson Josiah said the certification of Excellence to Journalists, is the first of it’s kind since the establishment of the county in 1984, noting that is is intended to recognize the efforts and workings of journalists in the county as well as their immersed contributions made over the period.
Those honored include: John kamara Taylor of Radio Farmington as best male news caster, and Sherleen Harmon Kollie of Radio Joy Africa as best female News caster, Peace FM of Lower Margibi as the best furnished Studio of the year, Best Correspondent of the year capturing Elvis S. Gono ELBC upper Margibi correspondent, Moses Tokpah of Radio Margibi, as best human interest journalist of the year, and Nula L. Benda Sr. Of Radio Margibi as best program presenter of the year
Others include: Vasta J.Tarlue of Stone FM in Lower Margibi, Best Female Announcer, Patrick CM Kollie of Radio Joy Africa, Best news writer of the year and Abraham K. Kollie of KMTV as best online Correspondent as well as William Descent Toe, best Sports journalist, among others.
Margibi Assistant Superintendent for Development Francis J. Karpue Sr. lauded the journalists and called on them to continue doing the best in order to attract the minds of those who usually follow them closely in the media especially during their time of presentations and performances as journalists in the county.
He further pledged the County Administration’s close partnership with the journalists and media institutions across the county to ensure the betterment and growth of the county.
For his part, and speaking on behave of the honored journalists, PUL Margibi Coordinator, Patrick Kollie thanked the County Security Council and the county information service center as well as higher authorities of the local government in the county for being farsighted in acknowledging the works of journalists and the role of the Liberian media in the county.
Mr. Kollie called on his colleagues to remain focus in the discharge of their duties as a means of informing the people of MARGIBI yea Liberia.
