Residents of Maryland County were overwhelmed when their Senator, J Gleh_bo Brown last weekend dedicated several projects in the County including the construction of a bridge, a school and a steel mill to three towns alongside the Cavalla River identified as Yobloken, Yorken and Gbon in district #3.
Addressing citizens of the benefiting areas, Senator Brown expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to reach out to his citizens, noting that he is pleased and honored to dedicate these projects including a 6-class room school building.
The turning over ceremony of those projects was done at the Yobloken town Karluway Statutory district in the County, which was well attended by several participants include Local government officials, traditional leaders, students, football teams, women groups, Youth groups, Teachers and many more.
Moreover Senator, J. Gleh-bo Brown has presented the newly enacted law establishing the Maryland Vocational Training Institute, MVTI, to residents of the county.
Meeting scores of citizens at the Pleebo City Hall, Senator Brown indicated that he was pleased to present the hard copies of the Maryland Vocational Training Institute Act of 2020, which was crafted by him.
He said his quest for the establishment of MVTI is in fulfillment of constitutional provisions calling for equal access to educational opportunities and the importance of sound technical and vocational education in meeting strategic labor demands.
Senator Brown noted that MVTI would help address the human resource challenges and increase young people’s employability in an effort to boost the realization of inclusive growth and sustainable development in Liberia.
Moreover, the lawmaker, as part of his legislative break, pointed out that one of the purposes of returning home was to present the hard copies of the Technical and Vocational Act to citizens.
“My people of Maryland County, I’m pleased this morning to present to you the hard copy of the Vocational School Act that was passed by the National Legislature through my effort.
Speaking on behalf of Marylanders, the County Superintendent George Prowd expressed words of congratulations to the Senator for his level of support to the County.
