River Gee County Senator Commany B. Wesseh has stressed the need for citizens of the county to be united in order to foster the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the area.
Senator Wesseh stated that unity will pave the way to enhance major development projects to transform the living standard of the people.
The River Gee County lawmaker made the statement at the weekend during a program marking the 19th anniversary of the founding of River Gee County organized by the River Gee Development Association in Clara Town on Bushrod Island outside Monrovia.
According to him, River Gee citizens should work in unity for the transformation of the county through projects that will make most impact on the lives of the people.
He indicated that division among the people will hamper the growth and upliftment of the county.
Senator Wesseh emphasized that the women of the county should get involved with the process of fostering peace and unity among their children, noting that women have played significant roles to ensure that peace and stability are restored to Liberia.
Meanwhile, the Bishop of the Faith and Victory Church, Michael A. Cooper, has said the people of River Gee County will have to explore all avenues to be united to revamp the development process of the county rapidly.
Bishop Cooper noted that without unity among the people, it would be difficult to foster the county development agenda.
River Gee gained county status in the year 2000 under former President Charles Taylor’s regime through an Act of the Legislature.
