LIBERIA: President Weah Finally Withdraws Cllr. Ndubusi Nwabudike Nomination As Chairman Of NEC

Following public outcry to withdraw with immediate effect of Cllr. A. Ndubusi Nwabudike as Chairman of the National Elections Commission (NEC), the Liberian leader, President George Manneh Weah has finally withdrew his nominee for the position of Chairman of the NEC.

Over the past days there has been dramatic stage during the confirmation hearing of Cllr. A. Ndubusi Nwabudike at the Liberian Senate when he gave conflicting statement about his nationality as a Liberian with bulk of the Senators expressing dissatisfaction on his Presentation during the hearing.

The decision of the Liberian leader has been welcomed by many Liberians who spoke to our staff, noting that such decision by the President is belittled, while at the same time the Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA) says it has set a committee to probe Cllr. Nwabudike for his nationality declaration.
