BARCLAYVILLE, April 18 (LINA) – Prince Nimely, 20, and Stephen Klagbe, 22, are facing charges of criminal mischief, menacing and disorderly conduct after they allegedly attacked the vehicle transporting crushed rocks to the site of the “Pro-Poor” housing units in the Dayokpor Community in Grand Kru County.
Dayokpor is one of eight locales benefiting the shelter project in the county.
According to the Crimes Services Division of the Liberia National Police, contractors of project implementer Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE), who were onboard the truck, alleged that they were attacked by the suspects.
In their accounts, the constrictors said the men accused them of taking jobs that should have been given them and “eating government money alone.”
The incident led to the damage of the taillight of the vehicle, according to police who assured that in keeping with law, the suspects will be forward to court after the investigation.
Meanwhile, the two suspects were not made available to speak to the allegation, as the Liberia News Agency continues to follow the case.
The situation has already sparked the concerns of people in Dayokpor over fear they might be dropped from the housing projects should such incidence become prevalent in the area.
