Several employees of palm Springs Resort have commended the CEO, Mr. Najib Kammad for trying to settle salary arrears to them.
For the past three years, management has made substantial payment to them. However, following the differences in the amount, management took it to court Labor court for proper reconciliation.
Finally, an amount of USD61,000(sixty-one thousand United States dollars) figure was reached
Speaking to a team of reporters on Wednesday, many of the workers said they were happy to hear that all was set to pay them.
“If what we are hearing is true, then, we want to thank the CEO for that. We have been waiting for long time now and to hear such a news, we are happy,” Roberta Davies, a worker at the bar said.
Another employee, Otis F. Paye said, “well, I have nothing much to say, but commend Mr. Najib for this. We are just waiting for them call us to come for our arrears. Once we get it, some of us will like to still work for the hotel.”
When contacted the CEO, he said, he was happy to see that his employees get their just benefit.
“I think if everyone works, he or she needs to get what they work for. So, we want all our employees to feel happy. Once that is done, those who still want to come to work with us, we will take them.”
“We have 320 employees and will settle them,” he said.
