The National Media Council (NMC) says it is inviting the Elections Commission of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) based on a complaint filed by Ms. Facia Harris on Saturday, October 26, 2019, requesting the NMC to intervene in the matter of her disqualification from the ongoing Press Union of Liberia (PUL) elections by the Election Commission.
The NMC in a statement issued today, November 1, 2019 said based on the request of Ms. Harris, the NMC is inviting parties to the matter for hearing on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at twelve o’clock in the afternoon. The NMC asks parties to the matter to come with documents to support their claims.
Meanwhile, the NMC wants candidates in the PUL elections and their supporters to continue to be civil in their exchanges and refrain from inflammatory statements throughout the process. A statement signed by the NMC Chairperson, Mrs. Elizabeth E. Hoff noted.
