The Monrovia City Court at the Temple of Justice has detained a 45-year-old man at the Monrovia Central Prison on multiple charges.
According to a Police Charge Sheet and Court Record, Mr. Olisa Anthony Ezenwa, a Nigerian, was sent to court by police to answer to charges of recklessly endangering another person, kidnapping, simple assault and menacing.
Olisa, a resident of the Doe Community, was arrested on July 13 by the Liberia National Police based upon a complaint filed by Ifechukwe Ibe, another Nigerian.
The Police record reveals that complainant Ibe reported that defendant Olisa and cohorts held him hostage for four days for allegedly receiving US$1,800 for narcotic drugs.
The police charge sheet further stated that defendant Olisa allegations against victim Ibe were not true.
The Police also said that their investigation established that defendant Olisa committed the crimes of kidnapping by holding the victim hostage and requesting for ransom.
The Police record also clarified that the defendant recklessly endangered and menaced the life of Ibe as well as committed simple assault on the victim for days.
The Police Record also noted that the defendant was captured based on tip off on the commission of the criminal activities in Doe Community in an area known as “Stanford Bridge”.
