LIBERIA: LLA Launches ‘Land Conflict’ Awareness In Maryland County

As land conflict has become a serious problem in Maryland County, Liberia at the official lunching of the Awareness Campaign on the dissemination of information on the LAND RIGHT ACT (LRC) and the Liberia LAND AUTHORITY ACT (LLAA) took place in Harper City, Maryland County.

The lunching ceremony which was uniquely  held February 26, 2021 at the Harper City Hall, brought together several participants in the County include, local authority, Chiefs, Women groups, Youth groups, Civil society organizations, media reporters among other.

Welcoming the delegation was Hon Ellen Blessings Howe Mayor Harper City, meanwhile, the master of ceremony during the program was Mr: Emmanuel Davis the Communication director of the Liberia LAND AUTHORITY.

The unforgettable occasion of the Awareness on the Land Rights Act (LRA) and the Liberia Land Anthority Act (LLAA) was  lunched officially in Maryland County by Mr: Adams Manobah, Sr. Chairman of the Liberia Land Authority (LLA).

Mr: Manobah told participants that Land is  life for both women and men.

“Fellow Citizens we know what our Constitution say that everyone entitled to own land in Liberia, therefore, I have come along with my team to officially lunched the  Land  Rights Acts that was passed 2018,  recognizing the land Rights of Liberians holding land under Customary tenure for the first time since the country was founded and the Liberia Land Authority Acts (LLAA). Mr: Manobah explained to participants.

Addressing, the congregation he disclosed that citizens should find out the owner of a Land before purchasing it to avoid confusion in the community.

Gracing the occasion was the executive director of the Liberia land Authority Mr. Stanley N. Toe who elaborated on the function of the Liberian Land Authority. He noted that the Liberian land Authority is a one-stop, independent body of the Government, mandated to formulate and implement laws, policies, regulations and programs in support of land governance.

At the same time He extended thanks and appreciation to the World Bank and others humanitarian organizations for their support.

The director of Liberia land Authority in Maryland County Mr: Robert Moore overwhelmingly congratulated all those that attended the occasion.
