Liberia health authority in its bid to curb the spread of COVID-19 has issued national guidelines, noting that travellers from three countries including India, Pakistan and Bangladesh within 14 days will not be allowed into Liberia.
Addressing the nation on a local radio station, the Minister of Health, Dr. Wilhmina Jallah also warned commercial vehicles drivers including taxi and others to drastically reduce their occupants on board, and observe all health protocols.
She further noted that all persons shall be compelled to wear masks at all time in public, and ensure social and physical distancing, wash their hands regularly with soap and clean water or alcohol based hand sanitizer, and that all public offices are required to reduce their employees with 50%.
On sporting event, the Liberian Health Minister also said, will be allowed with no spectators, while other business centers including restaurants will be allowed to open to the public but with limited attendants.
The Minister’s statement concluding said, the government may be compelled to impose a lockdown, and or curfew if these guidelines are not fully complied with.
